Type designers, motion directors and creative coders from nine countries open the line-up.

Twenty names, nine countries and one rule: every talk shows the files behind it. Here is who is coming to Québec City this September, and why we asked them.

Why these twenty

Every year we start the line-up the same way: with a long list of people whose work we keep coming back to, and a short list of questions. Can they show the files behind the finished piece? Will they talk about what went wrong? Would they stay for the long table at lunch?

The first twenty names answer yes to all three. They come from nine countries and four disciplines, and most of them have never spoken at a design festival before. You can meet everyone on the speakers page.

"The first idea is rarely the good one. I am coming to Québec to show the nine that came before it."

Elena Vasquez, Creative Director

On the Main Stage

Three talks open each day, and all of them are built around a single object that was almost thrown away.

  • Elena Vasquez on the first good idea, and why her studio waits for the second.

  • Maren Schulz on the rejected glyphs from a four-year type family.

  • Kiro Tanaka on how a title sequence starts with hundreds of thumbnails on paper.

Craft and Code

Théo Marchetti opens his print-proof archive on the Craft track. On the Code track, Davi Osei builds a creative tool live, starting from an empty index.html and showing every wrong turn on the way.

From the 2025 edition in Montréal.

What comes next

The line-up grows in two steps, and the schedule follows soon after.

  1. Jun 15: twenty more names, completing the forty voices of the 4th edition.

  2. Jun 30: early bird passes close.

  3. Aug 1: the full schedule goes online.

See you in Québec City, Sep 17–19. Get your pass before the early bird ends.
