Two minutes and fourteen seconds of Montréal, edited by Inês Carvalho.
Three days in Montréal, ninety seconds long. The reel from the 2025 edition is online today.
Three days in ninety seconds
We filmed everything on two cameras and a borrowed phone, and the first cut was eleven minutes long. Every version after that was a lesson in what to leave out.
The final reel is graded on 24 fps footage and cut to the sound of the room itself: chairs, applause, the sentence before a talk starts. No music was added.
The best moments were the ones between the talks. We cut the stage to make room for them.

How we made it
Two cameras, one fixed on the stage and one walking the halls.
Sound recorded by the same person every day, so the room feels continuous.
A rule for the edit: no shot longer than four seconds, no shot without a person.
A frame from the reel, Friday afternoon.
